CODE OF CONDUCT

Welcome to Cognition Davie. To ensure a safe, respectful, and enriching experience for all
visitors, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
Respectful Behavior
● Courtesy: Treat all visitors, staff, and volunteers with kindness and respect.
● Inclusive Language: Use positive and inclusive language. Foul, aggressive, or disrespectful language, as well as discrimination, harassment, or offensive behavior, will not be tolerated.
● Personal Boundaries: Be mindful of the personal space and comfort of others.

Safety and Conduct
● Child Supervision: You are responsible for your child. Staff are not responsible for the safety of your child. Please supervise children at all times. Children can not be dropped off at the museum.
● Prohibited Items: Weapons, alcohol, illegal substances, smoking, vaping, and
clothing deemed inappropriate for a family learning environment are strictly prohibited.
● Behavior: Aggressive behavior, running, climbing, or any actions that may cause harm or disruption are not permitted.
● Service Animals: Only service animals are allowed unless prior permission has been given.

Preservation of Exhibits
● Interaction: Be gentle with our exhibits. Treat exhibits with care, like a scientist! If something breaks or stops working, tell a staff member so we can fix it. Remind your children to handle it with care. Our exhibits are for learning, not rough play.
● Food and Drink: Food and beverages can be enjoyed in non-carpeted areas,
including the kitchen area and outdoor green space.
● Cleanliness: Dispose of trash appropriately and help maintain a clean environment.

Photography and Recording
● Permission: Photography is allowed for personal use unless otherwise stated. Flash
photography and tripods are prohibited.

Compliance
● Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in removal from the premises. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave if rules are not followed.
Thank you for helping us maintain a welcoming and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
